There are OPAC terminals for searching the library collection (one on each of the 1st and 2nd floors) and user terminals (Computer Area on the 2nd floor).
OPAC(searching the library collection)
The terminal is always running when the library is open, so anyone can use it without logging in.
- Search for books in Yamagata University Library (OPAC).
- Reserve books in My Library.
- View library usage information.
- View Yamagata University web pages.
When you have finished using the terminal, simply leave. There is no need to shut it down.
This terminal cannot be used to connect to the Internet or write reports, other than as mentioned above.
Please note that you cannot save files using USB memory or other devices.
User terminal (2nd floor Computer Area)
The devices and permissions available to users vary depending on their affiliation.
for Students : 9 thin client terminals, 1 printing terminal (standing)
- Please log in with an account issued by the Information Technology Center. If you don't know your password, please use the password reset terminal.
- You can use various databases, electronic journals, etc.
- You can create reports using Microsoft Office.
- You can use USB memory sticks.
- Printouts can be made using the printers provided.
- Standing seating will be given priority to those using the venue only for printing. If you are using it for searches, etc., please give up your device.
- For details on use, please check the notice posted in the Computer Area or the Information Technology Center website.
for Faculty and staff : 1 unit
- Please complete the procedure at the counter before using the library.
- You can use various databases, electronic journals, etc.
- You can create reports using LibreOffice (Microsoft Office compatible).
- You can use USB memory sticks.
- When printing out, please fill out the document copying (printout) application form provided and submit it at the Service Desk. There is a fee. (Black and white 20 yen / color 50 yen per sheet)

The following actions are prohibited by library rules. Please be careful.
- Damaging or damaging equipment, or taking it out without permission.
- Installing programs without permission, connecting unauthorized peripheral devices, changing system settings, etc.
- Unauthorized intrusion into networks, etc., or similar illegal acts.
- Downloading large amounts of electronic journals (including bulk or continuous downloading using software or browser link pre-reading functions), unauthorized copying of library materials, etc.
- Actions that place a heavy load on the network.
